Counting Down
Counting down to the number of days left of this trip on one hand.
In the previous post, I mentioned how this last month seems challenging for me. 3 weeks have past, and I'm glad I hadn't given up and left.
Sure, it's still tough and definitely the most tiring month of the trip. But think I learnt a lot these past 3 weeks, and formed another special bond with the hosts Nancy and David, and the 8 dogs 5 cats I have to help feed and clear their poop. Also learnt quite abit about my endurance limit and adaptability.
They have a cat named Potter (whose runaway brother was named Harry btw), that used to ignore me when I first arrived. Now when I call out to Potter and pat my thigh, she will gracefully approach and cuddle up on my lap to nap. heehee one of the many precious memories here.
Then there's Ferlyn, a golden fur dog, who would force her head under my hand when I'm not looking to ask me to pat her.
The other night, there was a sudden infestation of 白螞蟻 white ants (the kind that flies in after rain and is attracted to light). Super scary! David took his flame torch to kill them; Nancy armed with the vacuum cleaner. I was a useless city kid trembling in a corner, praying that when I open my eyes this was all just a nightmare. hahaha
So we spent an hour and half fighting these intruders. Definitely a situation I have never imagined myself to be in. So. I guess. Something else to check off the list! hahaha
With the end approaching, I'm strangely looking forward to heading home. Maybe cause I 流浪/roam for too long, starting to miss certain comforts and familiarity.
Sorting out my thoughts to wrap up this trip properly :) Update again soon!
